At HRM Direct, our Monday mornings are spent much the same as it was when I was in the corporate world – with a “Top 3″ Monday Morning Meeting. For us, its a way to get the heads of the departments and key support people all together in a room to talk about what projects, events & business goals we have coming up that week.
The evolution to have a discussion about what we are doing on our blog seemed like a natural next step!
So…Here is what is going on in HRM’s world this week!
- Fall Conference Schedule – With speaking, attending & exhibiting all on the table this fall, we are spending this week to really refine what we are looking to contribute to each event we are attending. Our first event up will be TalentNetLive in Dallas, TX – where I’ll be speaking on HR Technology Selection.
- OnBoarding Technology – We released our onboarding solution more than a year ago and are just finishing up a few final touches on the new release to come out early September!
- Blogging!!! We had a great soft launch of HRMOndemand blog last month & are ready to let loose with our “normal” blogging schedule this week. This new schedule will include our Monday “Top 3″ each week, a “Wednesday HR Words Wrap up” of the top blog post for the week previously and finish with our Friday “Why we love HR” post. Mixed in will me tips, advice & posts about whatever other random things our employee’s want to talk about.
So…That is what is going on in our world! What is going on in yours that everyone should hear about?

We have spent months debating, talking & planning this and if the human resource industry really needed ANOTHER blog talking about what is going on. But we decided that we were going to go for it and try to not only write our own posts and share what we are finding in the space, but bring in industry leading practitioners from companies of all sizes to have conversations on here as well.
Onto the name, (which is always a common question) HRMOnDemand, how did we pick that? Well it was pretty simple we wanted to have something that was still representative of the HRM brand and really pointed to our commitment to clients, information and technology – On Demand.
However, when we were coming up with blog names, we did have a few (late night) brainstorming sessions that produced some great ideas along with some wildly funny ones. The only requirement we laid out was that it included HRM somewhere in the title.
Rejected Blog Names:
- The BlaHRMy Stone
- An AHRMy of One
- Living in HRMony
Maybe they aren’t that funny, but they sure seemed it at the time after a serious lack of sleep.
Anyway…This blog should be used as a resource for people. HR, Recruiting, Job Seekers, Hiring Managers, pretty much anyone involved in business. You can decide its direction, what we talk about and where the discussions lead. If you ever have suggestions, comments, etc – leave them on the site or email us at blog@hrmondemand.com
